Wrap Up – December 2020

Hello and Happy 2021 Everyone! To kickstart what everyone hopes will be a better year, I want to run through what I read in December 2020.

I actually read a little less than I hoped. I had a planned surgery which I thought would lead me to read a bit more during recovery , this didn’t happen. I did however, still manage to finish 12 books; 5 physical and 7 e-books 🙌🏽, which took me to my yearly tots of 189, which I’m chuffed with!!!

Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Two ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Six ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Physical 📖:

📖 The Twelve Dates of Christmas – Jenny Bayliss ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖 I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – Milly Johnson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖Girl A – Abigail Dean ⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖 The Christmas Holiday – Sophie Claire ⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖 Winging It – Anna Jefferson ⭐️⭐️⭐️

E-books📱:

📱Playing Nice – J. P. Delaney ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱The Little Swiss Ski Chalet – Julie Caplin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱One More For Christmas – Sarah Morgan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱The Nothing Man – Catherine Ryan Howard ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱Christmas Island – Natalie Normann ⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱Together by Christmas – Karen Swan ⭐️⭐️⭐️

📱Christmas at the Little Waffle Shack – Helen J Rolfe ⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a bumper month of five star reads, five of them! All uniquely different too. I think I did myself a favour by not trying to cram in too many more and I managed to give myself the time to really enjoy these ones!

One that surprised me the most was probably ‘Playing Nice’ by J P Delaney. I didn’t read the synopsis before I dove in (something I actually do quite a lot) and it really blew me away. It really had me thinking ‘what would I do’ as the story unfolded. A real moral dilemma!

One that disappointed me the most was probably ‘Girl A’ by Abigail Dean. Not because it was rated the lowest but because I was expecting it to really blow my socks off and have to be a late entry into my Top Reads of 2020. I think it has fallen victim (for me) of the over hyped let down, which is a shame. I always wonder how much I’d have loved a book if I’d never heard it before previously, like how it would affect my judgment.

Have you read any of these? Do you agree with my ratings?
