Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This weeks topic is Books Written Before I Was Born. I was born in 1994 so this leaves lots of options to chose from. I’ve gone with books I’d like to read (hopefully this year) that were written pre-1994.
1. Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote – first published in 1958
2. Dracula by Bram Stoker – first published in 1897
3. A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking – first published in 1988
4. Sophie’s Choice by William Styron – first published in 1979
5. Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf – first published in 1925
6. Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton – first published in 1990
7. The Secret History by Donna Tartt – first published in 1992
8. Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh – first published in 1993
9. Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger – first published in 1951
10. Moby Dick by Herman Melville – first published 1851.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Top Ten Tuesday this week, drop me a comment and let me know some book you’d like to read that were written before you were born.
