2022 Wrap Up and my 2023 Goals!

In 2022 I read 100 books – less than my total last year and under my goal of 125 (but life got in the way a little this year!

My average rating was 3.8 stars out of 5! This is the same as last year!

My average book length was 348 pages. The shortest (Stories of Hope – Heather Morris) at 177 pages and longest (Rachel’s Holiday – Marian Keyes) at 578 pages.

The most popular book I read (according to Goodreads) was the ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

This year I listened to my first ever audio book and actually enjoyed it, which opened up a whole new way of reading for me.

As a reminder of what goals I set myself, here they are:

  • 150 books read in total
  • 52 buddy reads with my book besite @tot_and_tales
  • 12 Tsundoku Squad book club reads
  • 12 Never-ending netgalley prompts
  • All the books in my 22 for 2022 photo
  • At least 6 non-fictions
  • At least 3 classics
  • At least 2 Netgalley’s a month and making my % go up, not down!

So I didn’t do too great on my goals this year… The only challenge I actually completed was my netgalley % going up, I managed to achieve this:

Out of my 22 for 2022 stack I read 12 and DNF’d 2. Leaving 8 unread/un-attempted. I will be doing this again next year and hopefully completing it!

My A-Z challenge which I decided I wanted to do after 2022 has started I didn’t quite finish, how far I got is below:

2023 Reading Goals

For my 2023 reading goals I’m going to keep it simple:

– 23 for 2023 Stack and 100 books

I’d like to attempt to do as many of the A-Z again and get my Netgalley % a little higher but I’m going to try and plan this all a little less and take it back to just reading for fun!

How did you do with your reading goals in 2022?

Do you have any reading challenges your setting yourself for 2023?
