Synopsis:
She knows she’s alone on an abandoned island with a killer on her trail.
She knows that to get home to her children, she must survive long enough to understand why this is happening.
She knows someone tried to kill her for a secret.
What she doesn’t know is what that secret is . . .
Detective Frank Travis doesn’t know enough . . .
He doesn’t know where to find Louise Mason. He doesn’t know how and why she vanished into thin air three months ago. He doesn’t know the identity of the man last seen talking to her. Not yet.
But what he does know it that he’s a week away from retirement — and if he doesn’t find out where Louise went, no one will.
Review:
I’ve never read a Tim Weaver before but he came highly recommended, so when this popped up on NetGalley I was keen to see what it was like!
I was very pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed this book! It’s is fast paced and very cleverly written.
There were lots of sneaky little twists and turns, some that I saw coming, others that I most certainly did not!! The story line kept you on your toes the whole way through.
The swapping between before and present day, also the detectives storyline made it very captivating and helped keep the pace up.
I really felt connected the characters and their pain and their motives, made me think about what I would do in that situation.
I gave this book a 5/5 and I’m now I’m very keen to read more of Tim’s work (luckily I have two sat on my shelves already!)
I’m really looking forward to reading this, I need to catch up on his David Raker series. Great review!

the synopsis itself already has me at the edge of my seat, and then your review literally made me (mentally) stand up and decide I NEED this book. I love your review by the way, it’s so short but so informative.
