Six books I DNF’d in 2021

Do you DNF books? I never used to, but now I think life’s to short to be reading books I’m not enjoying… below are six I couldn’t stick with.

Have you read them? Should I try them again?

The Fellowship of The Ring – J R R Tolkein

Circe – Madeline Miller

Confessions of a Curious Bookseller – Elizabeth Green

The LockSmith – Linda Calvey

The Last House on Needless Street – Catriona Ward

Damage – Caitlin Wahrer

      1. A short story called “Nagisa, Onna-musha” by Andrew Hartman; “Rhapsody” by Mitchell James Kaplan; “The War Nurse” by Tracey Enerson Wood; “The Limits of Limelight” by Margaret Porter; “The Last and the First” by Nina Berberova. Also, I received a copy of “How Icasia Bloom Touched Happiness” by Jessica Bell, which I didn’t want and read only two pages of before I realized it wasn’t for me, and I won a copy of “Monet & Oscar: The Essence of Light” by Joe Byrd, which I don’t recall entering the giveaway for. With that one, I also only got through about 10% before I quit reading.

      1. Recently ploughed through The Last House on Needless Street. It’s a bizarre book, but it is worth the slog. The end will explain it all, as endings mostly do!
